The are various types of editing techniques i can use throughout my film trailer to create an effect of suspense. These are editing techniques such as: Fast pace editing, Slow motion, Zooming, Cross cutting or even a Split edit:

Fast pace editing: Fast pace editing can be used to express the tempo of the scene and i can use it in chase scenes where the killer is chasing the victims. This will almost put the viewers i the victims situations creating a chilling effect.

Slow motion: I can use a slow motion effect in my trailer to add suspense to the scene and make the viewers feel calm before something shocking happens.

Zooming: I could use a zoom to show various parts in detail. This will be important because it can reveal parts of the image that people didn't see before potentially scaring the audience.

Cross cutting: Cross cutting is used to show what happens in 2 different places. I could use this to show the light sides of the victims being happy and then cut straight away to the killer which is the dark side creating a representation of good and evil.

Elliptical editing: Shot transitions that omit parts of an event, causing ellipsis and plot in the film duration.

Jump shot: Is basically an elliptical cut that appears to be an interruption of a single shot. It occurs within a scene rather than between scenes, to condense the shot.
